Cello classical music

Guiding students for conservatory preparation studies, competitions or simply for the pleasure of musical experience. Each direction will be prepared separately depending on the student's need. Curriculum are structured based on 3 pillars: 

  1. Physical understanding and technique trainings (understanding the physical aspects and approach of the instrument and student’s body towards the instrument)

  2. Reading music sheet, translate it and interpreting the music

  3. On performing, being the music

Cello non-classical music

Guiding cello students who have intermediate and advanced levels in classical music cello studies who wish to explore non-classical music gems such as pop, jazz, rock and metal. Curriculum are structured based on 3 pillars:

  1. Understanding style of playing in different aesthetics

  2. Playing with a chord sheet and/or without sheet music. Intuitive playing.

  3. Improvisations

 

Theory of music

Guiding students from beginner level on the logic of Western musical system. Curriculum are structured based on 3 pillars:

  1. Notation system and its symbols

  2. Relationships between each notes: scales, intervals, modes

  3. Principle of time in music: rhythm, time signatures

Harmony and chords

Guiding students from beginning level on the relationship of verticality (pitch between notes) and horizontality (time). Curriculum are structured based on 4 pillars:

  1. Basic harmony structures

  2. Inversions

  3. Textures

  4. Harmony with rhythm 

 

Music composition

Guiding students who already have a basic theory of music and harmony knowledge. Curriculum are structured based on 5 pillars:

  1. Studies on musical forms (structures)

  2. Expression training through student’s instrument

  3. Documenting musical idea in head to the paper

  4. Sketching techniques

  5. Instrumentation and orchestration

 

Improvisation

Guiding students from any level and any instruments in the art of improvisation. Curriculum are structured based on 2 pillars:

  1. Pitched improvisation training through scales and modes

  2. Rhythmic improvisation training

 

Songwriting

Guiding students from any level (preferably have basic knowledge of chords). Curriculum are structured based on 3 pillars:

  1. Basic musical structures studies

  2. Musical creation training on an existed poems

  3. Creating melody and chords first before text

 

Pop guitar

Guiding students from any level for basic pop guitar playing. Curriculum are structured based on 2 pillars:

  1. Chord studies through chord sheet

  2. Strumming and fingerpicking technique 

Classical chamber music coaching

Guiding groups of students who are engaged as a chamber music ensemble. Curriculum are structured based on 2 pillars:

  1. Musical interpretation as a group

  2. Performance study

 

Computer music

Introducing students to DAW (digital audio workstation) such as Logic Pro or Ableton and its potential in creating and producing music. Curriculum are structured based on 2 pillars:

  1. Understanding the workspace of a DAW

  2. Introduction on synthesizers

  3. Audio recording study
